2019 PRE-SEASON TRAINING WEEKEND

Our pre-season training weekend is held just before the official ski season opening.

Please note that our 2020 training weekend has
been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However....
Our 2019 training weekend on June 1 and 2, 2019 was a great success with several prospective new volunteers attending and subseuqently joining.

Training officer Mac Hanson once again did an amazing job with the full two-day program to ensure everyone was up-to-date with their competencies and policies and procedures. Some simulated first aid emergencies were invaluable in terms of refreshing skills and team work.

It was not all hard work though with patrollers enjoying the catch up since the end of last season and welcoming the newcomers. The early snow was a bonus with some patrollers making the most of the opportunity to have a ski.

At the annual general meeting held on 1 June, retiring captain Tim Hatten was commended unanimously for his leadership over the past five years. Retiring secretary Bronwyn Howell was also congratulated on her super efficiency including delivery of minutes within hours of the evening.

The meeting also voted unanimously that Krista Callinan be awarded a Life Membership in recognition of her many years of dedicated service as a volunteer patroller and as a committee member in several key positions.

The 2019 committee comprises:
Captain: Ray Malins
Vice Captain: Mike Sutton
Secretary: Cathy Sutton
Treasurer: Anton Halabut
Training: Mac Hanson
Skills: Kyle Roberts
Promotions/website: Sandra Bucovaz
General Committee: Michelle Tomkins, Dylan Tweddle and Lewis Clarey.
