
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A PATROLLER
A DEDICATED team of volunteer ski patrollers helps ensure the safety of the thousands of weekend day trippers who visit Lake Mountain Alpine Resort at peak times during the winter season. Resort staff and paid patrollers cover the resort on week days.
Volunteer patrollers must:
ASPA accreditation
Lake Mountain Alpine Resort sponsors patrollers to gain their Advanced Emergency
Care qualification through ASPA.
The ASPA course is held annually in Melbourne over two full weekends (four eight-hour days over two weekends), usually in late April and early May. The ASPA qualification is valid for three years.

Volunteer patrollers must:
- be fit, competent cross country skiers
- have a minimum Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) qualifications upon joining, with the view to attaining 'Advanced Emergency Care' accreditation through the Australian Ski Patrol Association (ASPA) as soon as practicably possible
- commit to 10 rostered weekend days during the winter, including the pre-season training weekend.
